Bukit Kutu, also known as Treacher’s Hill, was once a colonial hill station where remnants of buildings still exist at the summit.

Hikers start from the designated carpark at an elevation of approximately 280m. Within five minutes, they will cross the first suspension bridge followed by a half sunken bridge to the other side of the river bank. When arriving at the fork in the path, hikers need to take the right path. This happens twice.

After a further five-minute walk, hikers need to wade across another river. Try as you may to step on the stones in crossing, you cannot avoid getting your feet wet.

In another few metres, hikers need to cross a wooden bridge platform and stream and thereafter, there will be significant elevation.

Hikers need to be cautious as there are lots of fallen bamboo trunks on the pathway.

But even as you watch for obstacles on the ground, keep an eye out for the many beautiful butterflies and moths fluttering about throughout the trek.

At about the 4.5km point, you will come across Gua Tebung, a very tall stone wall which has been defaced by irresponsible people.

The peak of the summit is made up of three successive boulders and there are four ladders placed to reach the edge.

At any one time, only two people can either stand or sit on the boulder. Hikers are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Titiwangsa Range and the Selangor River Dam. But be very careful at all times and do not take risks.
