Passion for singing keeps him going

THE song Hitam Manis may have been sung first by the late R. Azmi in 1954, but it became the trademark song for V. Sarangabanie when he released his rendition of it in the 70s.

The 74-year-old bachelor, who started singing in the 60s, said back then it was not common for an Indian to sing in Malay.
