A village hemmed in by development

BISECTED by the Sprint Highway and New Klang Valley Expressway, Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara is arguably the only traditional Malay village left in Petaling Jaya.

There used to be others such as Dato’ Harun and Medan but they have become medium-and low-cost housing “taman” with industrial and commercial zones.
