AROUND this time, many will be winding down and recharging for the new year.

So what better way to do that than through food, glorious food.

With Christmas approaching, there are many restaurants with curated offerings planned such as EQ Kuala Lumpur.

At Kampachi, a Japanese five-course festive menu that includes Thinly Sliced Hokkaido Scallop and Grilled Lamb Rack, awaits.

The shellfish is paired with wasabi sauce and ikura (salmon roe), which complement its natural sweetness, while the wasabi stem in soy sauce accompanying the lamb delivers mild heat.

The Christmas eve five-course omakase dinner is priced at RM588nett per person.

A la carte is available too, as well as an optional sake add-on at RM150nett per person.

On Christmas day, Kampachi will serve a brunch buffet priced at RM288nett per adult and RM98nett per child (six-12 years old).

There will be Malaysian favourites and Christmas specialities at its all-day dining restaurant, Nipah, but the must-haves are Spaghetti Lobster and Slow-roasted Australian OP Ribs.

The former satisfies with succulent chunks of lobster and plenty of tomatoes, while the beef ribs are a yummy indulgence.

At Étoile, there is a BBQ Christmas eve dinner priced at RM168nett per adult, while on Christmas day there is a Festive Meat and Seafood Platter available from RM138nett.

Diners can also look forward to more Asian-infused bistro dishes such as Percik Chicken Thigh, Lemongrass and Chili Tiger Prawn, Roasted Striploin and Seared Scallop with Tropical Salsa.

For fine dining with a city skyline view, head to Sabayon.

A five-course Christmas eve dinner here is priced differently depending on where you sit, so a window seat is RM888nett per person, RM788nett per person in the main dining hall, and RM688nett per person in a private dining room.

The Swiss Cheese Raclette and Sliced Veal a la Zurichoise are among the highlights.
