SIBU: The booming SibuJaya township is a great place to invest, says Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Dr Gregory Hii.
“All those who believed in this township about 20 years ago, are now reaping the fruits,” he said during his speech on the sixth night of Fiesta SibuJaya.
Dr Hii noted the value of property here had grown in line with the township’s growth to become one of the most sought-after residential areas in Sibu.
Praising the business community in the township for their tenacity and acumen, he said it was time for them to consider coming together as a group.
“I am more than willing to share my experiences and assist the SibuJaya business community form a group that will put them on a better footing to work with the authorities,” said Dr Hii, adding there is strength in numbers.
He added the business community must evolve with changing times.
“You can no longer expect to do things the way you used to,” he said, adding the advent of technology, especially in the field of information technology, has changed the way businesses operate.
Dr Hii said business operators must work with the authorities in order to ensure the SibuJaya township continues to grow.
The Fiesta SibuJaya, which has seen an average nightly turn out of several thousand, is scheduled to end tomorrow with Sibu Rural District Council deputy chairman Robert Lau speaking at the closing ceremony.
