LABIS: Parents should not be too sensitive should the Government decide to shut down schools with low enrolment as it does not only affect yearly expenditure but also the social development of students, said MCA vice-president Datuk Chua Tee Yong.
He said the migration of the younger generation to urban cities and lack of employment opportunities have greatly affected the number of students here, as eight primary schools have been classified as low enrolment schools or “sekolah kurang murid” (SKM).
