Giant calligraphy canvas to usher in Year of the Goat

Ancient art: Goh (white shirt) and students writing calligraphy messages on a giant cloth canvas at SMJK JIt Sin in Bukit Mertajam.

ARMED with giant brushes, five Chinese calligraphy masters and 10 students wrote famous Chinese sayings and proverbs on a 110m-long canvas.

Within minutes, the blank canvas stretched out on the grounds of SMK Jit Sin in Bukit Mertajam was filled with auspicious characters and messages to welcome the Year of the Goat.
