Quarter marathon to showcase Klang’s potential as tourist destination

KLANG is gearing up for a Footer Klang City Quarter Marathon 2023, an event designed to showcase the town’s rich tapestry of cultures and its journey towards becoming a thriving city.

Project director Mike Lee said he was determined to put the town on the map as a burgeoning tourism destination, with the marathon slated for Dec 17.

The impending status upgrade of Klang from a town to a city is testament to the town’s growth and potential.

The event organisers believe that the marathon will play a pivotal role in propelling this transition.

Monzo Events, the organisers, will also collaborate with Klang Municipal Council (MPK) for Car-Free Day in December.

This initiative aims to further unite the community and reduce the environmental footprint of daily fossil fuel transportation.

While the 10km marathon marks a significant milestone, the organisers plan to have a 21km event in 2024 and a full-fledged 42km marathon in 2025.
