Pickleball in Selangor: A guide for locals and tourists alike

Pickleball is a major lifestyle trend in the Klang Valley. — Pickle Park Petaling Jaya

At first glance, it looks like tennis but also a little like badminton, yet uses a sort of ping pong ball. But pickleball is entirely its own game, according to fans.

Although the game was created in the United States as something older folks could do as a “gentler” sports activity, today pickleball is seen as a lifestyle trend that you either love or love to ... pick on. In Malaysia, the sport began picking up since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, in Selangor, pickleball courts are mushrooming at an impressive rate, with some taking over parking lots and old warehouses. A few have even opened up in shopping malls!

It is safe to say that a lot of Klang Valley folks are really, really into the game which is great because we all love a healthy, active lifestyle.

Of course, tourists – both domestic and international – are welcome to play in any of these courts, too.

So, if you’re planning a holiday in the Klang Valley with family or friends, here are 10 pickleball venues in the state to check out, according to Tourism Selangor.
