Good news for Malaysia Airlines Enrich members

SEPANG: Malaysia Airlines’ travel and lifestyle loyalty programme, Enrich, has announced even more flexibility when it comes to Enrich points validity and elite tier benefits for its members.

The changes, which are applicable for members who have not requalified for their current status this year, sees further extension for the validity of Enrich points to Dec 31, 2022 and an extension of all elite status until March 2023.

Among one of the leading loyalty programmes in the world to provide such flexibility to its members, these steps are the latest in a line of Malaysia Airlines’ efforts to ensure they can continue enjoying Enrich privileges. Previously, the airline had already extended the validity of its points several times since the onset of the pandemic for a cumulative 33 months from March 2020 through December 2022.

As Enrich members are gearing up to travel again following the reopening of domestic travel and gradual economic recovery, the move is also a timely one as they can continue to enjoy their tier benefits.

Aside from that, Malaysia Airlines has also recently opened up flights under the Malaysia-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane to facilitate seamless travel between both countries.

Meanwhile, members holding Golden Lounge access vouchers expiring through November 2022 will now be able to use them for their upcoming travels until Dec 31, 2022, as the airline has also recently opened its Domestic Golden Lounge in Kuala Lumpur International Airport following steady growth in passenger volume.

On top of the extensions for Enrich points validity and tier status, Enrich is making it easier for members to retain or fast-track their status, with a 30% reduction in tier qualification for the year 2022. This means that to retain or upgrade to platinum status, it will only require 70 Elite points, while gold will require 42 points and silver will require 21 points, respectively.

To illustrate, from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2022, Enrich Gold members only need to earn 42 Elite points to requalify as gold status, or 70 Elite Points to be upgraded to platinum status for calendar year 2023.

According to Malaysia Airlines group chief marketing and customer experience officer Lau Yin May, “We are delighted to announce this much-anticipated news for our members to ensure that they can continue to enjoy their Enrich privileges. We understand that these have been trying times, hence we hope to make things better by providing more flexibility and convenience for Enrich members, especially when making travel plans.

“As always, our members are our top priority and this is our way of recognising and appreciating their loyalty through all these years. This gesture, which is an extension of our Malaysian hospitality, is also one of the first in the airline loyalty world.

“At the same time, we are truly committed to meeting our members’ needs. Therefore, we are also constantly onboarding more of our earn and redemption partners, as we strive to be the most preferred travel and lifestyle loyalty programme in the market.”

Enrich members are encouraged to make the most of their Enrich points by redeeming flight tickets on Malaysia Airlines and its partner airlines, as well as hotel stays via enrichhotels.com. Enrich points can also be redeemed for a host of lifestyle partners on its vibrant redemption catalogue, which range from experiential dining at top-rated hotels, healthcare checks and wellness treatments to shopping for holiday styles, exploring outdoor activities or even making e-donations to charitable organisations.

For easy access, members are encouraged to download the Malaysia Airlines app to get the latest promotions on privilege discounts, as well as earning and redeeming Enrich Points, conveniently at their fingertips anytime and anywhere.
