Go on a pictorial journey with #MyAirAsiaStory photo contest

With excitement, this couple makes their way to a Japanese garden.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, encapsulating many wonderful stories, preserving precious moments for life. With that in mind, AirAsia in collaboration with Star Media Group is organising a photography contest, #MyAirAsiaStory.

Through this contest, Malaysians get to share their journeys behind the lens with AirAsia and at the same time unearth passion for the beautiful diversity of Malaysia and the world.

“I just read a book about an author – who has worked in Japan – travelling around Malaysia by only one mode of transportation, which was the bus,” shared AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat.

“The book was inspiring for me as I can’t even remember the last time I hopped onto a bus, and probably it was during my schooling days.

“In that book, he recorded every single detail, from the types of bus to homestays and his new experiences at each location, just so the stories could guide people who wish to do the same.

“From reading that book, I got to know that the first rubber tree planted in Malaysia was in Kuala Kangsar and also the review of a particular homestay he stayed at. If he had not written it, I wouldn’t have read these interesting things.

“From the level of passion of this one person, I am pretty sure we have 20 million passionate Malaysians out there who want an opportunity to tell us the many good things about our country, and I see no reason why we shouldn’t know about it,” he said.

The partnership between AirAsia and Star Media Group also highlights two homegrown brands working together to create a positive impact and strengthen the unity among Malaysians.

“Malaysia’s strength has always been its people and its diversity. Through this campaign, we want to showcase this diversity as a reminder that our strength is because of, and not in spite of, our differences.

“Just like our little global company, born in Malaysia, where we have 25,000 Allstars of over 50 nationalities. The diverse aspect of it creates what we are today and that is the beauty of it. AirAsia represents that and we are very proud to be part of that,” he shared.

The photography contest ends on Oct 25, 2019.

Participants can submit their entries via https://contests.thestar.com.my/myairasiastory and stand a chance to win international and domestic flight tickets, Big points and AirAsia merchandise.

Winning entries will be selected based on the interpretation and clarity of the theme, which expresses one’s passion for travelling to any AirAsia destination, as well as photos and captions submitted.
