THE 2026 showbiz awards season has kicked off with the annual Critics Choice Awards in January that showcased a stunning array of luxury timepieces on Hollywood celebrities’ wrists.
They highlight a trend towards rare vintage pieces, high-jewellery watches, and bold, modern designs!

Omega’s big showing in Santa Monica
Starting the ball rolling this year was the 31st Critics Choice Awards that took place on Jan 4 at the iconic Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport, California in the USA.
Actor Wagner Moura was nominated Best Actor for his role in the new thriller film The Secret Agent.
That night, he wore a 40mm Omega De Ville Trésor in stainless steel with a diamond-paved bezel on a black leather strap.

Fellow Best Actor nominee Sterling K. Brown, who caught attention for his role in the drama series Paradise, donned an Omega 38mm Seamaster Aqua Terra in stainless steel and 18K Moonshine Gold with a sun-brushed tinted lacquer burgundy dial.
Nominated for Best Actor in a Movie/Miniseries for his role in Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Charlie Hunnam wore a 41mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra with a turquoise gradient dial.
Not to be outdone, Gabriel Luna, as a cast member of Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy – the historical true-crime drama miniseries, wore a 42mm Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in stainless steel and 18K Sedna Gold.

Golden Globe glitz
Next up was the 83rd Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
American actor, producer and former WWE professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson, who is often seen wearing a Chopard Alpine Eagle, brought out the big guns for this year’s award show.

For the event, he was decked out in the Alpine Eagle 41 XP Frozen Summit in 18K white gold with 29.02ct of baguette-cut diamonds.
Meanwhile, actor and presenter Hudson Williams also attracted plenty of glances in Bvlgari’s Serpenti Tubogas 18K Rose Gold Watch in Diamond Double-Wrap around his wrist.

Fellow thespian and nominee Oscar Isaac also wore a Bvlgari that night, this time an Octo Finissimo.

Grammy glamour
It was all about the music at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February at the Crupto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Grammy-winning DJ, producer and nominee Kaytranada dazzled in the Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas watch.

Bold in Britain

Meanwhile, at the 79th British Academy Film Awards honouring the best films from the UK, American actor, author and filmmaker Ethan Hawke was nominated for the Best Leading Actor award.

This was for his role as the legendary 1940s lyricist Lorenz Hartin in Blue Moon.
During the event that took place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, Hawke wore a 30mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra in stainless steel with a pine green dial.

Ceremony presenter, fellow Brit actor Aaron Pierre also sported an Omega – the 42mm Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in 18K Moonshine Gold.
