It comes as no surprise that South Korean stars are increasingly sought after these days as brand ambassadors, representing global companies, especially for luxury fashion houses.

That’s because these brands acknowledge the immense reach and strong engagement of those artistes' global fan base.

Swiss horological icon Omega has just welcomed award-winning actor Park Bo-gum into its family of brand ambassadors, adding one of South Korea’s most respected and well-loved actors to its roster of global stars.

He joins fellow ambassadors like George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Eddie Redmayne, Naomi Harris, Daniel Craig and Hyun Bin.

Omega ambassadors are recognised for their exceptional talent and distinctive presence, perfectly reflecting the values of the brand.

Since debuting in the 2011 film Blind, Park has built an impressive body of work, including dramas such as Reply 1988 (2015), earning critical acclaim both in South Korea and internationally.

Park became a superstar while just in his 20s, widely known as a versatile actor for his roles in Love in the Moonlight and Encounter, often playing charming, innocent characters that earned him the nickname “The Nation’s Boyfriend”.

As he enters his 30s, Park continues his career with more mature and nuanced performances, showcased in the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025).

The critically acclaimed series has Park as a young man in the 1950s who falls in love with a woman (IU) and supports her when she faces immense challenges and continually fails to realise her dreams on account of her gender.

He has further expanded his range with a physically demanding role as a former national boxing champion in the drama Good Boy (2025).

He is known for taking on diverse roles across genres, continually pushing boundaries as an actor.

His most glamorous role to date, however, is probably as Omega ambassador.

Photographed wearing the Seamaster Planet Ocean in stainless steel with a striking blue dial, the watch captures his dynamic spirit and appreciation for precision craftsmanship perfectly.

Park has this to say about his real-life role: “Experiencing Omega timepieces up close and learning about the brand’s history and craftsmanship left a deep impression on me.

“It is a great honour to be appointed as an ambassador and share Omega’s philosophy and values with the world.”

Omega president and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann is also suitably impressed with the brand’s latest ambassador.

“Park Bo-gum is a widely loved actor, admired by audiences of all ages for his charm and outstanding acting skills,” he says in a recent media statement.

“Park's versatility, dedication to his craft and genuine passion for watches have long captured Omega’s attention.

“We are thrilled to welcome him as our ambassador,” Aeschlimann adds.
