Rare Patek Philippe watch fetches record price

A stainless steel Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 1518, manufactured in 1943.

A Patek Philippe timepiece that in 2016 became the most expensive wristwatch ever sold at auction, fetched an even higher price this November, auctioneer Phillips says.

The watch sold for 14,190,000 Swiss francs (US$17.6mil), surpassing the 11 million Swiss francs it fetched nine years ago (US$11mil at the time).
