Some may associate lace with the trimmings of bed and table linens, but as fashion designers creatively rework this material into ravishing ready-to-wear pieces, it becomes a stunning showstopper.

The fine fabric, known to have been developed in 16th century Europe, offers a combination of artisanal craftsmanship and femininity, as well as a sensuous appeal as it subtly reveals the skin it adorns.
