Arguably, one of the most popular fashion trends that has ever been created is the oversized jacket fad.

For several fashion seasons now, the roomy jacket is still a big hit.

While some may find the supersized style to be silly or goofy and gives off the impression of something borrowed, there are those who have long been waiting for such a trend as it allows them to wear a loose and baggy piece of clothing that offers a rare combination of comfort and fashion flair.

Plus, this trend transcends gender and size boundaries, as it caters to the sartorial interests of both men and women of all sizes, which probably contributes to its popularity and appeal.

The fashion staple has become a favourite among celebrities, with the likes of Bella and Gigi Hadid, Victoria Beckham, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski, often opting for the oversized blazer as a key piece in their daily wear.

A plus point of embracing this sweeping trend is that you could raid either your dad, hubby or boyfriend’s closet and hit fashion’s big time without having to dip into your own purse! A stylish and sustainable trend this.

When wearing one, the key is to strike a balance by contrasting it with something sleek and form-fitting such as skinny jeans, biker shorts, cropped tops, or bodysuits.

For a cool and relaxed look, it can also effortlessly be paired with either baggy trousers or Bermuda shorts, which creates a fashionable combo that gives a laidback vibe.

What’s more, with an oversized jacket you have the chance to experiment with layering as there is enough room to incorporate multiple layers underneath it.

Elevate your overall ensemble by adding a thin or thick belt to cinch the blazer for a groovy twist.

Joining the trend, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt wore a chic light grey slouchy trouser suit in a publicity photo to mark her appointment as the first Indian global ambassador for Gucci.
