Harrogate Sulphur Soap online biz bubbles into real Malaysian shop

The Harrogate Sulphur Soap is a specially formulated sulphur soap that repairs skin, especially for those prone to psoriasis, eczema, acne, sensitive skin and other skin conditions.

Siti Fatma Omar's sister suffered from mild psoriasis, and her daughter had bouts of hormonal acne. But while visiting a physician overseas, Fatma discovered Harrogate Sulphur Soap, and since then her family has used the soap as a healthy solution to skin problems.

In early 2017,�

she started selling the soaps in Malaysia through her own online business. Fatma, a law graduate, realised that she could not only educate consumers but also provide a solution to those with various skin problems.

She could fulfil her ambition of becoming an entrepreneur too. And as a single mother, she has inadvertently inspired other women who are regular Harrogate Sulphur Soap users to start their own business as distributors.

Harrogate’s spa heritage dates back to 1571 with the discovery of 88 mineral springs in the northern British countryside, more than anywhere in Europe. This allowed Harrogate to achieve spa status.

Today the town is synonymous with elegance, quality of life and refinement, due to frequent visits by celebrities, politicians and European royalty to take a dip in the sulphur springs of the spa.

In the 19th century, local pharmacists made their own soap in Harrogate. It was so effective because of the high mineral content of the spring waters. These waters became famous throughout Europe and it was the Sulphur Well, known as the “Stinking Well”, that became renowned for its therapeutic properties.

The soap, which is from The Harrogate Sulphur Soap Company in Britain, is a specially formulated sulphur soap that tones and repairs skin. This is especially for those prone to skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, sensitive skin, rashes, pigmentation and freckles mong others. It also helps with diabetic wounds, uneven skin tone, dandruff, hair loss, ringworms and rosacea.

Products available include the bodywash, shampoo, sulphur cream and soap bars and they all contain sulphur and spring water from Harrogate’s Old Stinking Well, with added vitamin E and essential oils.

Fatma just launched the first Harrogate Sulphur Soap showroom in Cyberjaya. She is also working on launching the brand’s official website harrogatesulphursoap.com.my which will be available by June for customers to make online purchases.
