Inspired by the concept of “Paradise”, this collection of precious gemstones and sparkling diamonds in the form of charming jewellery pieces are a combination of the timeless charm of classic gems and contemporary designs.
“As Frank Sonnenberg puts it, paradise is not a place but a state of mind. The main inspiration of this collection is the power of mind where one can create their own interpretations of paradise – which we then put them into drawings and subsequently bring those beautiful ideas into life,” explained DeGem’s executive director Stephen Choong at the Paradiso Collection’s showcase.
A standout piece, the “Blooming Cloud” is a magnificent flawless certified clam pearl, set amidst the wispy curls of the cloud, entrenched in diamond. The piece can be worn as a pendant or a brooch, and is accentuated by fire opals and cabochon jades that bring light and depth to an otherwise snow white cumulus. Emulating a pristine drop of rain from the cloud is a large 49.86ct pebble blue sapphire.
Another highlight of the collection is the “Peacock Royale” piece, inspired by the revered bird of Greco-Roman mythology, often referred to as the vault to heaven and the “eyes” of the stars. Created from a plethora of tsavorites, sapphires and fire opals to form the blue and green plumage of a peacock, the centerpiece boasts a 8.43ct cushion cut emerald and an over 9ct briolette blue sapphire, held on by a rose-cut pear shape diamond.
Paradise blooms are represented by a bejewelled pair of earrings in a burst of bright colours, in the form of sweet sparkles of spinels and emeralds surrounding diamond-encrusted earrings.
Diamonds are also featured in the collection, in the form of a dazzling bracelet weaved together in intricate links, which can also be worn as a pendant to spice up a simple, chic outfit.
The Paradiso collection is now available all DeGem boutiques.
