Some queens may be remembered for their court, but many will hold fond memories of Queen Elizabeth II's love for her corgis.

Throughout her life, the queen, who died Thursday (Sept 8) at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, owned more than 30 of the dogs, according to the American Kennel Club. She was "one of the most prolific and dedicated Pembroke Welsh corgi breeders and ambassadors that the world has ever seen," the AKC story says.
