For countless individuals around the world, chasing sunsets has become a cherished ritual, a way to pause amidst the chaos of life, and immerse oneself in the splendour of nature's grandeur. From towering mountains to serene coastlines, each location offers a unique canvas upon which the sun paints its final masterpiece of the day.

I've been chasing sunsets for 20 years, mostly at the seaside. It's sometimes a journey of solitude; if not, there is a companion. It's a hobby.

Beyond the physical act of chasing sunsets lies a deeper, more profound journey – one of self-discovery and reflection.

Chasing sunsets over the years has offered me a wealth of experiences and lessons. Here are some things I might have learned. I say "might" because applying those lessons in daily life requires much resilience, calling for that connection and collaboration between your mind and soul!

Photography skills: I've been capturing sunsets through photography. One may think I have developed skills in composition, lighting, and timing. But no, the images are normally captured on my DSLR camera with no specific settings, or on my mobile phone. Don't fall prey to the people who tell you that you need skills to take pictures.

Patience: Sunsets unfold at their own pace; they don't adhere to our schedule. Waiting for the perfect moment to capture a sunset teaches me patience and the value of slowing down, which is a blessing to me, whom most people might call "monkey brain" (state of feeling anxious, restless and unsettled).

Connection with others: Sharing sunsets with loved ones or fellow enthusiasts can deepen our connections and create lasting memories. It's amazing how many fellow enthusiasts and loved ones I have exchanged thoughts with regarding sunsets – and none of us had the same ideas of a sunset.

Appreciation of nature's beauty: Witnessing the changing colours and patterns of the sky at sunset can deepen our appreciation for the beauty of nature. It teaches us to see the wonder in simple moments. Sometimes, I find "magic" in those moments, with simplicity woven into it.

Finally, it is a reminder that no matter what, tomorrow will come, bringing with it another sunset. I will always run to look for one!

I am sharing these images because it is too sad to leave them in my camera.
