We must love books first

BUILD it and they’ll come, Abby Wong wrote in her Book Nook column (Reads, StarMag, July 18). Well, I’m sorry to disagree Abby. You can take the horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

There are many well stocked libraries in Malaysia with “heaps of books” and lovely, readable books they are, too, especially in schools, but they are sadly underutilised.
