Starchild: Who are some of Malaysian kids' dream celebrities?

American singer Billie Eilish maybe known for her unique music style and powerful voice but she is also vocal about various social and environmental issues.

She has supported campaigns against climate change, advocated for mental health awareness, and encouraged body positivity. Many children admire celebrities and they can range from actors, singers to comedians. There are many celebrities who aren't just about fame and glamour - they are all about being a great role model for you.

If you are wondering why some celebrities are good role models for you, well it is because they work hard. Just like you tackle your homework and chores, these celebrities put in effort to achieve their dreams.

But that's not all – celebrities also care about others. They use their fame and fortune to support important causes, like helping those in need or protecting the environment.

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes has been actively involved in charitable work. He has supported initiatives related to education, mental health awareness, and disaster relief. Mendes co-founded the Shawn Mendes Foundation, which focuses on empowering youth to take positive action in various areas, including sustainability and youth mentorship.

"If I were to meet a celebrity, it would be YouTuber KThePlonker. I want to meet him because he always makes funny videos about the characters Goka, Vegeta, and Frieza from Japanese anime series Dragon Ball. I always feel happy after watching KThePlonker's YouTube videos," says Chuah Seng Koon, eight.

"My favourite cartoon hero is Glue-boy, who is from the Notebook Babies on YouTube.

He is a fun, infectious and bouncy character who fixes broken things and people. He cheers friends up, especially Kool Cat, who is most happy when Glue-boy comes to the rescue to patch up his broken arm with sticky strong glue," writes Declan Goh, nine.

"I love Princess Ariel because she's adventurous, has the coolest underwater friends, and her hair is awesome! She taught me to be curious and brave. Plus, her singing is like magic – it makes me believe in dreams," writes Emelia Chandrani Surenthran, 11.

Meena Daud, seven, adores Disney's Princess Rapunzel because she's got the longest and beautiful hair.

"Rapunzel is my favourite princess because she's brave, creative, and never gives up on her dreams. Her long hair and artistic spirit inspire me to be adventurous and express myself freely."

"I like Bomb from Angry Birds because he's round, funny, and can explode stuff. It's hilarious when he gets all puffed up! He makes playing the game super fun," writes Aaron Surenthran, nine.
