For those looking for tips on health and wellness, head on to the FitForLife 2015 exhibition taking place at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur in about a week’s time.

The fair is a collaboration between The Star and Great Eastern Life, and is one of the largest in the country to showcase the latest trends in fitness, health and well-being, covering all aspects from diet to nutrition, exercise, stress management, beauty and aesthetics, lifestyle enhancements and more.

Exhibitions, health and lifestyle talks and stage activities addressing a wide spectrum of health and wellness issues will be available.

Those intending to gain better understanding on health and wellness issues can also do so at various exhibitor booths equipped with informational brochures and unique offers.

Many expert speakers will be sharing their knowledge at the three-day event.

Celebrity TV host and wellness author Jojo Struys will be back again this year.

She is the voice and creator of the “Letting Go” guided audio relaxation series to help people de-stress and stay mentally positive.

She is also the brainchild and author of the “Letting Go with Jojo Struys” free app for Android, available on Google Playstore, which enables people to receive positive messages on the go.

She has appeared on numerous health shows as well as a cooking series on the Asian Food Channel. Her latest project is an international travelogue filmed throughout Asia Pacific with various tourism bodies on the many ways one can let go and relax.

Struys’ topic this year is entitled “Power of Positivity to Avoid Burnout”, and she will be sharing about this energising force in our lives, focusing on the ability to cultivate a winning attitude, even in the face of adversity.

If you’ve been feeling stressed and exhausted, this inspiring session will help you recharge your batteries. Learn how to manage stress triggers at work and at home, using positivity, breathing techniques and de-stress tips to keep mentally positive and motivated to handle any challenge that comes our way.

The talk will be on Saturday, April 11, from 6pm-7pm.

Model and actor Kit Mah and Jeremy Ng, personal fitness coach and founder of PFC Studio, will expound on the topic, “Functional Fitness for Everyone”.

They will share about formulating personal fitness goals as well as demonstrate functional movements and postures in exercise. They will also talk about common exercise mistakes.

Other speakers include Dr Raja Ahmad Shaharul bin Raja Abdul Malek, who will talk about healthy ageing; Assoc Prof Dr Haresh Kumar Kantilal of Wellness Concept, who will be speaking on the topic, “Don’t Grow Old, Grow Healthy: 90 Day Detox and Rejuvenation Programme”; Samuel Liew of Health Pursuit Sdn Bhd, whose topic is “Common Foot Problems and the Role of Orthotics”; and Sebastian Liew, who will be sharing about “The Naturopathic Phytotheraphy Approach To A Healthy Heart and Prevention of Heart Attack and Stroke.

This year’s FitForLife theme, “Get Fit. Live Great!’, aims to inspire Malaysians to lead a healthy lifestyle and adopt a holistic approach that includes physical and mental fitness, financial health and general fitness.

The exhibition will be held in Halls 1 to 3 of the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from April 10 to 12. It is open from 10am to 7pm. Admission is free.
