Former TVB actress Barbara Chan Man Yee, widow of late actor Liu Kai Chi, dies at 66

Former TVB actress Barbara Chan Man Yee has died at the age of 66, according to a report by the South China Morning Post.

Her death was announced by her sons, who said she passed away peacefully on Friday (June 12) morning at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, Hong Kong surrounded by family after an illness.

The statement did not disclose the nature of her condition.

Chan was the widow of Hong Kong actor Liu Kai Chi, who died in 2021 at the age of 66 from stomach cancer.

Chan began her career with Hong Kong broadcaster TVB in the late 1970s and rose to prominence in the 1980s, becoming a popular on-screen name during the era.

She appeared in several memorable drama series, including The Bund, Born To Be King and The Legend Of The Dragon Pearl, among others.
