Veteran rockers Aerosmith have revisited their self-titled debut album more than 50 years on.

Formed in the 1970s, the group – Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford – are one of the most popular acts of all time, with 150 million records sold around the world.

The remastered album, released as part of the rockers’ belated 50th-anniversary celebrations, is raw, unfiltered and full of personality, showcasing Aerosmith at its best.

The album opens with Make It, a rock track infused with blues-inspired sounds, followed by Somebody – a catchy track led by strong guitar riffs.

The band’s hit single, Dream On, stands out as one of the most distinct songs on the record as a powerful, passionate rock ballad.

The track leads into One Way Street, which is a long, slow, blues-inspired track with a heavy groove.

The record also features fan-favourite track Mama Kin, which is raw, high-energy, hard rock and full of attitude.

Movin’ Out features edgy guitar riffs which accompany Tyler’s confident vocals, while the group’s cover of Rufus Thomas’ Walkin’ the Dog ends the record on a playful and loose note.

The remastered version of Aerosmith’s hit debut record is clearer and heavier, without losing the unpolished edge that made the original so unique. – dpa
