Sean Solo, the viral sensation famously known online as the “Hongdae Guy”, has brought his signature comedic energy to Klang, swapping the bustling streets of Seoul for one of Malaysia’s most iconic dishes: bak kut teh.

In a lighthearted video shared by Malaysian-Japanese duo Joshua Lim and Arisa Yamanaka on their Instagram channel, @malaypantv_official, Sean is seen enthusiastically enjoying a bak kut teh feast, complete with youtiao (fried dough crullers) and tofu.

“This is very good,” he said, delighting in more than two plates of rice while learning the traditional way to savour the herbal broth.

Sean rose to global fame through sketches parodying the over-the-top antics of young men in Seoul’s trendy Hongdae district.

He is best known for his expressive gestures and hilariously awkward English catchphrases, such as “Do you libe alone?” and “Are you open-mindeu?”.

His comedy expertly highlights the clumsy charm of men attempting to impress tourists, turning relatable social awkwardness into a cornerstone of global meme culture.

With his arrival in Malaysia, local fans were quick to flood the comments section with excitement.

User @elilauindahaus commented: “Omg so cool! Didn’t expect the Hongdae Guy to end up in Klang!!” while @gracepang joked: “So Hongdae Guy becomes Klang Guy? It makes me want to try it too!”

Other viewers were impressed by how well he adapted to local dining customs.

User @papermoonz_0719 noted: “He’s eating it so Malaysian style,” while @fathinsn added: “Wow, he’s more Malaysian than I am. I can't stand the spiciness of cili padi.”

Sean’s visit marks another moment where international digital creators are embracing Malaysian food culture, proving that the way to a global influencer's heart is often through a steaming bowl of Klang’s finest broth. – Sinar Daily
