Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan is said to be taking active steps to mend his relationship with his estranged daughter Etta Ng Chok Lam.

According to Hong Kong media, Chan has allegedly provided financial support to Ng, 26, on several occasions last year – including covering her rent in Canada and backing her design career.

Reports also indicate that his team even reached out to her studio to commission promotional design work for one of his films.

In a recent livestream, Ng was asked if she and Chan have reconciled, to which the former responded: "He has been looking at the posters I've made lately."

As for whether she has "forgiven" her father, Ng didn't give a clear answer.

According to Oriental Daily, this marks the first time in a long while that Ng has spoken about Chan, who has been married to former actress Joan Lin since 1982.

For context, Ng is Chan's daughter from an extramarital relationship with former beauty queen Elaine Ng.

Growing up, she never had a relationship with Chan and even told British media in 2015 that she never wished to see him.

In 2018, Etta Ng revealed that she had been homeless and was later spotted in 2022 queuing for free meals provided to the needy.

However, recent reports suggest that her life is stabilising.

She's said to be working as an assistant at a Hong Kong design company and was even spotted manning a stall in Mong Kok.
