WIth Malaysia’s beloved primadonna Erra Fazira set to tie the knot on Dec 12, the Internet is buzzing with excitement and one big question: Who is the man who finally won Erra’s heart after more than a decade of single motherhood?

As her fans celebrate the news, checks by Sinar Daily found that Ezwan Zain, 44, is not just "Mr E" from her music-video wedding teaser, he’s a well-known Klang Valley entrepreneur with a story that actually sounds like a modern Malaysian hustle fairytale.

Born and raised in Selangor, Ezwan is the eldest of three brothers. He grew up in a hardworking family and went on to pursue a degree in Mechatronics and Robotics.

His career began in the oil and gas industry, but like many modern-day quiet hustlers, he later realised his passion wasn’t in corporate work, but in business.

That turning point eventually led to the creation of Kueh Cafe in 2015, a cosy, much-loved spot known for traditional kuih, modern desserts and specialty coffee.

The cafe slowly became a hit among Klang Valley food lovers and today, almost a decade later, it draws customers from across the country.

Along the way, Ezwan expanded into various ventures including a car wash business, a used wood factory and construction projects, all built from the ground up through trial, error and grit.

Despite his achievements, those who know him describe Ezwan as humble, soft-spoken and easygoing, the kind of entrepreneur who doesn’t need to shout his success.

On the personal side, he is a divorcee and a devoted father to a young daughter from his previous marriage.

And now, he is preparing to marry one of Malaysia’s most beloved icons.

For younger readers who may not have grown up watching her films, Erra is a household name in Malaysian entertainment, an award-winning actress, singer, former beauty queen and host.

Once crowned Miss Malaysia World, she dominated the film industry through the late 1990s and early 2000s, earning the title primadonna Melayu. Her love life, however, has long been the subject of public attention.

She married singer and KRU member Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim in 2003 before their divorce in 2006.

She later married businessman Engku Emran, with whom she shares her daughter, Engku Aleesya, before the marriage ended in 2014.

For over 10 years, Erra remained single while focusing on raising her daughter and rebuilding her personal life. So when she confirmed her wedding plans earlier this week, it hit differently, especially for longtime fans who have watched her journey unfold over decades.

She made the announcement at the launch of her music video Cinta Abadi, which also serves as their wedding theme song.

“Yes, God willing, we will be getting married this Dec 12. Please pray that our marriage will be blessed,” she said.

Their reception will be held the following day on Dec 13. – Sinar Daily
