Malaysian singer Dayang Nurfaizah is choosing to keep her personal life private amid growing rumours that she is engaged and preparing to walk down the aisle soon.

The 44-year-old singer, whose full name is Dayang Nurfaizah Awang Dowty, denied that any date has been set for a wedding ceremony despite the ongoing speculation.

For now, she said her focus remained on her music career, specifically two exclusive concerts under the Janji With Dayang banner, set to take place in Penang on Aug 23 and at Menara Kuala Lumpur on Sept 27.

“The only dates I’m focused on are for my exclusive shows, because I haven’t released a full album in a long time. The last one was in 2017, so this is something very special,” she said at a press conference on Monday.

When asked about the possibility of marriage, the singer replied with a smile and said “Pray for the best for me.”

Previously, Dayang was rumoured to be romantically linked to popular singer and composer Hael Husaini, with social media speculating that the two were secretly engaged.

However, Hael had publicly denied the claims.

On her upcoming shows, the Sarawak-born singer said she intentionally chose to stage mid-scale performances to create a more personal and intimate experience for fans.

She also expressed gratitude for the strong support, as tickets for both shows sold out quickly. – Sinar Daily
