Michelle Dee rushed to get medical help after her pet dog bit her in the face and left a torn wound on her cheek.
The Filipino actress-beauty queen showed her face with patches on her cheek and chin, through her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 3.
“My unexpected Tuesday plot twist,” she captioned her post. “Sa mukha ko pa talaga.” (It even had to be on my face.)
In a succeeding post, Dee showed herself at the clinic of celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 also gave a closer look at the wound on her face.
“No matter how much we love your furbabies, never underestimate dog bites!” she reminded her followers. “Act quick.”
Belo, who came to Dee’s rescue, wrote in a separate post, “We got you, Michelle!”
On June 4, Dee went on social media to clarify that her pet dog was not aggressive toward her and that the biting incident was an “honest accident.”
“A morning full of supposed routine cuddles turned into a ‘just my luck’ moment. To be fair, my fur baby’s tooth just happened to graze my face at the wrong place, wrong time. No aggression — just an honest accident,” she said on Instagram.
“Still my babygirl,” Dee said of her fur baby.
Just last February, another celebrity fur parent, actress Alma Concepcion, shared that she and her son were bitten by their pet dog.
The actress regarded the incident as a learning experience for her and her family, saying that while their dog is kind, they would refrain from cuddling him as it might prompt another biting incident.
“I’m sad about this change. But over-all he is kind. He’s potty trained and with the looks of it, he is very sorry,” Concepcion said. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
