Taiwanese actress Joe Chen recently visited Johor after attending American pop star Lady Gaga’s concert in Singapore.

However, she was struck by sudden stomach pain and diarrhea during her stay, and a medical examination later confirmed that she was suffering from appendicitis.

According to Sin Chew Daily, Chen, 46, was hospitalised after undergoing surgery on Tuesday (May 27).

The Fated To Love You (2008) star was discharged the next day.

“The doctor told me not to worry as it was just a minimally invasive procedure. I was hospitalised for one night and have recovered well,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

Chen also expressed gratitude to the medical team for their attentive care and thanked the hospital management for sending her a gift basket.

“I have already been discharged from the hospital. The doctor says I can eat anything I want.”

Chen is married to Malaysian artist Alan Chen, who hails from Johor.

The couple registered their marriage in Taipei City on March 21, 2022, and held their wedding ceremony in Langkawi, Kedah, on Sept 22 last year.
