Hong Kong actress Carina Lau faced a traumatic ordeal in 1990 when she was abducted for several hours, reportedly due to rejecting a film offer and provoking an investor with secret society links.

During her captivity, her kidnappers forcibly took nude pictures of her and demanded a ransom for her release.
