Hong Kong actor Jonathan Cheung recently travelled to Malaysia with his wife, former TVB star Angie Mak, and their three children to celebrate Chinese New Year.

On Feb 13, Mak, 43, shared a video on Facebook documenting their trip.

The family of five visited Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur – popular among devotees and tourists, especially during festive seasons.

“We had a hot New Year in Malaysia this year. Every CNY, Jonathan prefers going to warmer places as he is afraid of the cold,” Mak captioned her post.

The actress added that before tying the knot with Cheung, 43, in 2012, she would have chosen a ski trip instead.

“But after marrying him, I started following his preferences and eventually got used to our summer CNY,” she said.

In the video, fans of all ages can be seen approaching Cheung for photos, and the popular TVB actor happily obliged.

“Met many supportive fans of brother Cheung who wanted photos. Thank you all for your support,” Mak wrote in the video.

Many netizens have since left comments welcoming Cheung and his family to Malaysia. Others also expressed hopes of running into them during their time here.

“Welcome to Malaysia. Have a great CNY,” one fan commented.

Another added: “Wow, Mr Cheung looks younger and more handsome. I almost didn’t recognise him. Wishing Mr and Mrs Cheung and their family all the best, good health and everlasting happiness.”
