Hong Kong singer-actor Wong He has been diagnosed with kidney failure.

On Tuesday (Jan 14), Wong took to social media to share two photos of his medical reports, revealing that he suffers from Stage 3B chronic kidney disease (CKD).

According to the National Kidney Foundation, Stage 3B CKD indicates moderate to severe kidney function loss. Symptoms include fatigue, swelling, loss of appetite and nausea.

Despite his diagnosis, the 57-year-old actor remains hopeful, adding that his condition is gradually improving.

“From being sentenced to a lifetime of dialysis to being able to self-discharge from the hospital, and from end-stage renal failure to Stage 3B CKD.

“This is proof that the genes my parents passed down to me are as tough and unyielding as a rock,” said the TVB star.

Wong sparked health concerns last December when he shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed.

At the time, the actor did not reveal the nature of his condition.

Many netizens have since left comments, wishing Wong a speedy recovery. Others also reminded him to take care of his diet.

“People suffering from kidney disease must pay special attention to their diet,” said one fan.

“Please monitor your blood sugar closely!” another added.

Wong launched his entertainment career in 1992 as a radio host before transitioning to acting with the 1996 TVB series Nothing To Declare.

His breakthrough came in 1997 when his performance in the drama Deadly Protection earned him his first Best Actor nomination at the TVB Anniversary Awards.

Wong further solidified his popularity in the film industry with his role as a firefighter in the action drama trilogy Burning Flame.

He has also starred in dramas such as A Matter Of Customs, C.I.B. Files and Fathers And Sons.
