Local actress Diana Danielle has expressed disgust over her husband Farid Kamil's refusal to pronounce the divorce, calling it "revolting".
According to Diana, 33, their marriage was beyond repair as Farid, 43, refused to change despite her giving him a second chance.
"His actions are extremely revolting and out of touch with reality. He's being irrational because there is nothing else for us to save.
"There are only so many chances one can get, but he wasted time. Please return to reality and let me go. Don't be so cruel to me," she told mStar, The Star's Malay-language news portal.
Diana and Farid appeared at the Federal Territory Lower Syariah Court on Monday (Dec 16) for the second mention of their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Syariah lawyer Fakhrul Azman Abu Hassan, representing Farid, said the matter would be referred to the Reconciliation Committee (JKP) as his client refused to pronounce the divorce. The hearing will take place on March 24 next year.
Diana told mStar that she plans to seek alimony from Farid since he wants to prolong their divorce case.
"I will only withdraw my appeal if he agrees to let me go. Even though it's a long process, I will continue pushing for the divorce," she said.
Meanwhile, Farid has denied being cruel to his wife, maintaining his belief that Diana still has feelings for him.
He also added that he still loves Diana and their two children – Muhammad, 11, and Nur Aurora, nine.
"Diana's love and care is something others can't feel, only I can. That love is still strong.
"I see every opportunity in marriage as a blessing from God. In my opinion, our marriage is blessed, and I will continue this journey no matter the challenges," he said.
Earlier in October, Diana announced on Instagram that she had filed for divorce from Farid for the second time.
The pair, who tied the knot on Nov 3, 2012, divorced via Google Meet on Aug 10 last year but reconciled days later on Aug 31.
