After his last movie, 2022’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan took a break from the film industry.

Apparently, the 59-year-old wanted time off to reflect on his life choices and spend more time with his family.

In 2021, the actor got a divorce from Kiran Rao, with whom he tied the knot in 2005. Most recently too, the Lagaan star opened up about going for joint therapy sessions with Ira Khan, his daughter from his first marriage to Reena Dutta.

With things getting better in his personal life, Aamir is back to making films, and he’s accepted six films at one go, something he's never done before.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he said: "I have never taken up six movies together in my life.

“This time, I had my own reason for doing it. When I finally decided that, OK, I won’t leave films yet, the next thought that came to me was that this is probably the last 10 years of my active working life.”

He said that he’s talking a realistic approach on this matter as no one can avoid death.

“We might die tomorrow ... I roughly have 10 years of active life.

“Till I am 70, I will hopefully be well enough to be productive.”

Another reason for his new attitude is because the Dangal actor hopes to support as many writers, directors, etc within the creative industry in those "final years".

“I want to become a platform for talents I believe in before I retire at 70. That’s why I took up more films.”

His first upcoming role is in the movie Sitare Zameen Par, which is a sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which happened to be the first film Aamir directed.

The new film is directed by RS Prasanna with Aamir in the lead role, alongside Darsheel Sarary and Genelia Deshmukh.

It is set to be released in India on Dec 25.
