Donnie Yen's daughter has decided to follow in daddy's footsteps and pursue a career in showbiz.

But instead of acting, Jasmine Yen wants to be a singer. The 19-year-old released her debut single, the pop R&B number idk, last Friday (July 28). She is signed to Sony Music Entertainment's RCA Records Greater China.

"I feel blessed to find my musical home in RCA Records Greater China. This is an amazing opportunity for me to pursue my dreams as an artiste and singer," Jasmine said in a press statement.

Jasmine made her first live performance in Singapore over the weekend playing at the Majulah Music Night. The teen beauty performed new material from her upcoming album, which will be released on Sept 1.

Jasmine, Donnie's eldest child, was born in Canada and raised in Hong Kong and Shanghai. She began honing her talent from an early age and has written over 70 original songs, 30 of which were crafted during the pandemic.

Last year, it was reported that Jasmine won a scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in the United States. She's currently taking a gap year to pursue her singing career.
