A sex scandal swirling around Chinese pop idol Cai Xukun (pic) appeared to deepen this week as he broke his silence about accusations that he coerced a woman to have an abortion after a one-night stand.

The controversy has led to his music videos being removed from state broadcaster CCTV’s video streaming app and TV broadcasts involving Cai have been suspended.
