TVB actress Jacquelin Ch'ng recently opened up about her failed marriage with Taiwanese businessman Brian Yang, claiming it was a hasty decision.

Making her first public appearance since the divorce on Dec 13, the 42-year-old actress shared that she had not seen Yang for a year during their two-year marriage.

"We only saw each other for six months. Then the pandemic happened, and we got separated (Ch'ng was in Hong Kong whereas Yang was in Taiwan).

"We didn't have time to get along and know each other better. It takes time to manage a relationship," she said.

Ch'ng revealed that Yang was the first to suggest the divorce. Although it was a mutual decision by both parties, the actress admitted that it was initially difficult for her to accept the situation.

"It (the divorce) happened so fast at the time, and I was a little confused. It's hard to talk about the past. I am just looking forward to the future," she explained, adding that she is doing better now.

The TVB star ended her two-year marriage with bubble tea businessman Yang in November.

Ch'ng remarked that the long-distance relationship, conflicting priorities and Yang’s inability to keep his promises were the biggest deal-breakers in their marriage.

When asked if the unfortunate experience made her hesitant of getting married again, Ch'ng responded no.

However, she stressed that she is not thinking of tying the knot anytime soon.
