Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan recently came to Malaysia with his wife, former Miss Hong Kong Phoebe Sin.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the 45-year-old TVB star stayed in Penang for three days and took off to Ipoh to meet his friends. He then travelled to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Dec 13) and will be returning to Hong Kong today.

In a recent press conference, Chan said he selects Malaysia as his first choice to invest in real estate overseas in the future.

"I can't think of any other place. Malaysia is so welcoming. You can eat your favourite food ... and communicating with others feels so effortless," he explained.

Speaking of food, the actor revealed that his itinerary for this trip was to eat cuisines in three specific locations – Penang, Ipoh and KL.

"In Penang, I had shrimp noodles, fried kway teow and I bought lots of cakes. I also got a taste of Ipoh’s famous bean sprouts chicken which is a dish I’ve been longing to try," he shared, adding that he wanted to try the durian and Bak Kut Teh in KL next.

Chan hopes to stay longer in Malaysia next time. He also told the press that he plans on bringing his three-year-old daughter, Quinta Chan, along for the next trip here.

According to Chan, Quinta was unable to join them this time as she had school.

Although the actor missed her, he believed that the temporary separation was "good training" for his daughter in the future.

"It is a necessary stage for a child to grow up. This way, my daughter can learn to be independent," he said.
