Actress Yoo Joo-eun passed away by apparent suicide on Monday (Aug 29). She was 27 years old.

Korean media reported that her brother informed of her death via her Instagram account, posting the note she had left behind. The Instagram account has since become private.

According to the report, Yoo's older brother posted the letter as it was the actress’s final wish.

He also shared her funeral details, stating: "For those who have the time, please say farewell to Joo-eun."

As translated by soompi.com, Yoo's note reads: “I am sorry for leaving first. I am especially sorry to mum, dad, grandma and brother.

“My heart screams that I don’t want to live. Life without me may be empty, but please live on bravely. I will keep watch of everything. Don’t cry.

“I’m not sad right now. I feel resolute and calm. I think it’s because I have thought of this for a long time.

“I’ve lived such a happy life which was more than what I deserved. That’s why, it is enough for me. This is enough. So please live without placing blame on anyone.”

Yoo – who appeared in K-dramas Big Forest (2018) and Joseon Survival Period (2019) – also mentioned in the note that she desperately wanted to be an actress, but found that life to be difficult.

“I didn’t want to do anything else. That feeling was so hopeless. Having something you want to do is a blessing, but I realised that only wanting to do that one thing is also a curse.”

Near the end of the note, she wrote: "To all my loving family and friends and my loves. Thank you so much for treasuring me and loving me. You were my strength and my happiness."
