NEW DELHI: Mumbai Police on Tuesday (Oct 20) left Kota with the three accused arrested in connection with the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s car.
The accused were taken in two separate vehicles and will be brought to Mumbai for further interrogation as investigators probe the incident and their alleged role in the case.
Kota Additional SP Subhash Chandra Mishra said the accused were handed over to the Mumbai Police after a court granted transit remand. He explained that the police team stayed in Kota overnight due to exhaustion and security concerns.
"After being arrested yesterday, they were produced before the competent court for a transit remand. The court granted the transit remand, following which they were handed over to the Mumbai Police.
"They stayed here overnight, partly because the police team had been traveling for a long time and were exhausted, and also because they had put significant effort into the interrogation.
"For security and safety reasons, it was deemed necessary that they not depart during the night; hence, they stayed here.
"Regarding the Kota Police’s involvement: we will provide security as requested by the Mumbai Police team, if they request security for a specific duration or distance, we will provide it; otherwise, our responsibility extends up to the state border," Mishra said.

The Mumbai Police took custody of the three suspects arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota. A local court granted them a 48-hour transit remand, allowing the Maharashtra Police team to take the accused to Mumbai for further investigation.
Railway Colony Police Station SHO Ramswaroop Meena said the three accused had been granted transit remand and were being taken to Mumbai by the Maharashtra Police.
The Mumbai Police reportedly changed its original plan to take the accused to Mumbai overnight and instead kept them at the Railway Colony police station in Kota.
The move was part of an alternative strategy, referred to as ‘Plan B’, to ensure the safe transportation of the suspects.
Visuals from the police station showed tight security, with teams from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch and Rajasthan Police maintaining a security cordon around the premises. The accused remained at the station overnight before the police team left for Mumbai on Tuesday.
Firing took place in Mumbai’s Juhu
The case relates to a firing incident that took place around 7pm on Sunday (Oct 18) in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club.
The accused allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car. While Shroff escaped direct gunshot injuries, his driver sustained injuries in the incident.
According to the police, the three suspects were arrested while travelling on a train. A case has been registered under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway. - The Statesman/ANN
