Malaysian TV host-entrepreneur Neelofa revealed via a TikTok video on Monday (May 9) that her son had received an amount of RM14,020 as duit raya for this year’s Hari Raya celebration.

Neelofa and husband, PU Riz, welcomed Muhammad Bilal on Jan 29, making this the family's first Syawal together.

In the TikTok video – which has received over 230,000 likes and 7,800 comments – Neelofa can be seen counting the cash, most of which are RM100 and some RM50, RM10 as well as RM1.

There is even a single United Arab Emirates Dirham note in the stack – 1,000 dirham, which converts to RM1,190.

PU Riz can be heard saying thank you in the video: "Jazakallahukhair to everyone who has given duit raya to Muhammad Bilal.

“His duit raya this year – the amount of RM14,020 – MasyaAllah, is even more fantastic than ours.”

The comments on the video are divided between some understanding why the infant had received a large amount considering who his parents are, while others point out that it’s not a good thing to show off one's wealth in such a way.

Neelofa and PU Riz got married on March 27, 2021; Bilal is their first child.
