Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh shared on Instagram on Thursday (March 24) that she has Covid-19.
In the photo, the international star is wearing a face mask and lying on bed.
She wrote in the caption: “Life on Life’s terms... bittersweet ...Premiere in LA tonight & unfortunately, I verse jumped into the Covid universe!”
Many of her followers including actors Daniel Wu, Jimmy O Yang and Benedict Wong have reached out to wish Yeoh to get well soon.
The 59-year-old is starring in the new science-fiction film Everything Everywhere All At Once, where her character jumps between realities to assume different roles.
This is the first Hollywood movie that Yeoh is headlining after working in the West for more than 20 years.
She’s also featured on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter this week.
In the article, her co-star Jamie Lee Curtis said: “She’s number one on this call sheet.
“She’s been working hard in this industry all over the world for a very long time, showing us all these colours. I hope people understand what an expansive talent Michelle Yeoh is.
“This is the perfect confluence of a part and a movie being released with an actress who’s been waiting patiently for us to pay attention.”
Everything Everywhere All At Once is set to open in the United States on April 7.
It opens in Malaysia today (March 24).
