Calling all Malaysian Armys and Carats!
The long-awaited BTS and Seventeen “In The Soop” pop-up store has finally arrived in Malaysia and officially opens tomorrow (April 29) at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
This exclusive global store – which runs until Aug 28, 2022 – is themed after South Korean reality series, In The Soop, created by Hybe starring the world’s biggest boy band BTS and popular idol group Seventeen. The show revolves around the lives of these superstars as they take a step back from their busy lives to rest and rejuvenate in nature.

This pop-up space houses over 300 limited edition merchandise – with new items released every week. Fans can get their hands on a variety of merchandise, ranging from apparel, wallets, plushies, posters, bags and other lifestyle products. Early birds are also entitled to a free “In The Soop Postcard” welcome gift while stocks last.
The pop-up store can be found on the Ground Floor Luxe and is in line with the mall’s expansion plans of bringing in a series of Korean attractions to its Korean-themed retail zone, “District K”.

Apart from merchandise, fans can pose at two photo zones. The first photo zone, at Ground Floor Luxe, should be a treat to Armys as it features the popular 3D TinyTan figurines. Perfect for your Instagram snapshots.
According to 1 Utama’s business development manager Danny Chee, these 3D models are one of the main highlights of the pop-up store as they are the official ones that were flown in from South Korea. Fun fact: the leader of the septet, RM, once uploaded a selfie with his TinyTan model on Twitter. It’s the exact same one being displayed at 1 Utama.
Additionally, there is also an In The Soop campfire site located at Ground Floor 1 Utama E, which offers fans a photo opportunity with the reality show’s mascot, Soopy.
To comply with Covid-19 SOPs, store admission is strictly for visitors with low-risk MySejahtera status. Face masks and proper social distancing are also compulsory. A virtual queue system will be provided at the entrance to control the number of visitors and ensure proper social distancing. Visitors who enter the store can only stay for a maximum of one hour. However, these protocols are subject to changes in accordance with the latest government guidelines.
Malaysia is the second country in South-East Asia after Singapore to host this exclusive K-pop attraction. Last September, 1 Utama hosted the BTS Pop Up: Map Of The Soul Showcase which recorded over 50,000 visitors from all over Malaysia.
