Datin Kong Yuk Chu, the mother of Hong Kong-based Malaysian celebrities Jacquelin Ch'ng and Lisa Ch'ng, has passed away. She was 82.
Jacquelin, 46, announced her mother's death in a social media post on Tuesday (Aug 25), revealing that Kong passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
"We are saddened to announce that our beloved and respected mother has left us, accompanied by friends and family.
"She has completed her journey in life. We will always love and miss you," the actress wrote on Instagram, alongside an obituary detailing the wake and funeral arrangements.
Lisa, 39, also paid tribute to her late mother, sharing a wedding photo featuring herself, her husband, TVB actor Mat Yeung, and Kong.
"I miss you so much. I hope you are free from illness in heaven and can be reunited with Dad," she wrote in an Instagram Story, adding that the family would always love and remember her.

Yeung, 45, also mourned his mother-in-law on social media. Sharing the obituary, he asked the public to give the family privacy as they grieve.
"Please give me and my family some space and time, and please respect our mother.
"We're not in a position to respond to anyone at this time, and we will not be responding to any enquiries. Thank you for your understanding," he wrote.
Kong was married to Malaysian businessman Datuk Bill Ch'ng Chong Poh, who died from an illness in February 2023. He was 83.
Earlier this month, Kong attended Lisa and Yeung's wedding in Kuala Lumpur.
Photos from the ceremony on Aug 2 showed her seated in a wheelchair as she celebrated the couple's special day.
