Tom Parker, from the boy band The Wanted, has died from brain cancer on March 30. He was 33.

Parker's wife Kelsey Hardwick confirmed his death on Instagram.

"Our hearts are broken. Tom was the centre of our world. We can't imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom's light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I'm forever proud of you," she wrote.

Parker and Hadwick married in 2018 and have two children, Aurelia, two and Bodhi, 16 months.

In October 2020, Parker announced to fans that he had been diagnosed with terminal brain tumour.

"There's no easy way to say this but I've sadly been diagnosed with a brain tumour and I'm already undergoing treatment," Parker wrote on Oct 12, 2020.

In January 2021, he relayed some good news to fans telling them the tumour had reduced in size.

He wrote: "SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION. These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again. I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment."

He last updated his fans about his health in November 2021 stating that the tumour was "under control".

Members of The Wanted, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness released a statement saying they are devastated by Parker's death, adding that they were with him when he died.

"Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.

"Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts," the band wrote on Instagram.

The boy band was formed in 2009 and gave us hits such as Glad You Came and All Time Low. The Wanted visited Malaysia several times to promote its music and meet fans.
