Kristen Stewart has taken on some interesting roles before, but doesn’t want to do one in particular.

In an appearance on a podcast, Stewart, 31, was asked if she would be willing to play the Joker amid an internet campaign to cast her as the iconic role opposite of her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

“I love the energy behind that but, dude, it’s really been done so well,” Stewart said. “I mean, I love that gusto. Let’s figure something else out. I’m totally down to play a freaky, scary person.”

When she was pressed more about the role and if she’s against it, Stewart responded, “Not ‘no,’ but not the most stoked I’ve ever been. Let’s do something new.”

If she were to hypothetically be cast as the infamous villain, Stewart would be the first woman in a long line of marquee Hollywood talent including Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix.

Pattinson’s first film as the Caped Crusader, The Batman is scheduled to open March 4, 2022.
