Singer Yamani Abdillah's life flashed before his eyes when his vehicle spun out of control on the North-South Expressway early in the morning on Oct 21.
According to the artiste, his car had lost control near the exit of the Sungai Buloh toll while he was on his way back to Shah Alam from Perak.
"I was coming from Ipoh to go back to Shah Alam at 12.20am. Before the Sungai Buloh toll exit, suddenly my car's tires lost their balance and could not be controlled," he told mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.
He recalled the events leading up to the incident: "I saw there was a lorry coming from behind and I tried to avoid it. I controlled the steering wheel but the car spun three times ... after that it stopped completely at the side of the road. At the time I thought I was going to die."
Thankfully the 20-year-old confirmed that both he and his brother did not suffer any injuries. His four-wheel drive, however, was severely damage. "I was supposed to have work that day but I had to postpone because I needed a break after the incident," said Yamani, who is son to popular singer Datuk Jamal Abdillah.
Yamani also admitted that he now has fear of driving at night. "Now I'm traumatised to drive far at night. That was the last time I drove a car at night. This may also be a test and a lesson for myself."
