Fans of Sex Education are excited to return to the British town of Moordale in the third season of the hit Netflix series which was released last Friday (Sept 17). Viewers once again follow the familiar group of students from Moordale Secondary School as they face a new set of challenges in school and their personal lives.

Some eagle-eyed Malaysians (who have binged Season Three) noticed a familiar face in Episode Five of the latest season. Malaysian digital creator and social media influencer Zoey Phoon was cast as an extra on the show.

Zoey Phoon Kar Yan, or Zoeypky to her fans, currently resides in the United Kingdom and shares her experiences and interests on her social media platforms and blog. In Episode Five of the series' latest season, Phoon is featured in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.

(SPOILER ALERT)

Episode Five opens with a returning character from Season Two, Viv played by Chinenye Ezeudu, using the public toilet during a school field trip to France. As she walks towards the sink to wash her hands, Phoon can be seen walking past her, dressed in a red jacket.

It was revealed back in July 2020 that the series was on the hunt for extras after production had been halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic causing delays.

Phoon posted on her Instagram story to share her excitement on the brief cameo. She also re-posted several stories from her friends and fans who were quick to notice her in the scene.
